Improvements to "Remove redundant popups" feature

Current state I adressing to:

Now, there are some problems with Remove redundant popups feature. I mainly can describe two problems, and the way I think it can be improved and etc:

1. Remove redundant popups only hides an popup with redundent letter, BUT it didn't hide on-key hints to that. This is somewhat wierd – why keyboard shows me that there ARE additional letter at popups, but when i hold it this letter popup just did not show at all!
2. Remove redundant popups is set to ON by default, when this is a tight case of scenario feature, that make sense only to wery small number of people witch use overload and/or corrupted layout and/or just did not like when popups can lead to keys that already exist like separate key.

Mine solution

1. Remove hint's tp letter's witch already can't longer be achieved because of Remove redundant popups are activated. This will make this function less confusing as it is now, when it still show me the letter witch i CAN'T type there.
2. Set Remove redundant popups to OFF by default. This will lead to increased functionality to most of people, for example for someone that come from different keyboard apps, and used to old layout with separate popup instead of key, to not mistype by muscule memory, and in general lead to increased number of possibilyties for people.
   Additionaly, I think there are sense to add separate hint about Remove redundant popups feature, even if my suggestion will be ignored. Now this featrure just haven't proper describe for let user know in what way it can be helpful for he/she. For example, add "This feature can be useful in pair with separate numbers row, or with user layout, to make key's more clear" to Remove redundant popups describe in app.

Use case
Exacly why I came to this. I'we working on improving UK and RU typing layouts, as native speaker. I changed things and added 3 new letters to layouts witch are often used in speach so this is good - have they as separate key, and don't need to hold finger for it anymore. But, remembering that people, that used to old layout might have to try input things in old way, by hints, and I'd provided way for it in layout and locale keys. But, in way to use this people need to switch OFF Remove redundant popups, wich they highly like didn't even know what it is, and only lead to more confusion.
Please, make it OFF by default and add a more proper describe. This will satisfy needs of everyone - regular users would not be confused, but thouse who need this feature can enable it 'cause it have proper explanetion.

Describe alternatives you've considered
If you don't like to make this settion OFF, issue can be somehow fixed just by adding more helpful describe to Remove redundant popups and adding hints to app, I mean when you turn off number layout or other cases where this settint might be useful, to include hint that you might be interested to turn ON or OFF (depending on action of user) Remove redundant popups.

P.P.S. Illustration to confusion when Remove redundant popups is turn on:
Pay attention that keyboard clearly show me that I can acsess to 'ї' letter on 'i' key. Notice that 'ї' exyst in right corner as separate key.

And when you hold 'i', there are no 'ї', despite that keyboard still show it as hint

This leeds only to confusion and misundestanding for users so, please, improve it

I agree. I don't see how redundant popups are a problem. If I can type a character in multiple ways, then it is more flexible for me. Why place a restriction?
