Agreed too, but I need more than synthetic benchmarks to do this.

I am planning to use this backup script to backup my lab VMs for a month or so, and I may add a prune benchmark then once I have "real data" repositories with big changes between files.
Also, some of the programs like kopia already do the house cleaning and implement GFS, so that would be more difficult to benchmark.
