Agenda and minutes

This meeting was held in-person as part of the Open Source in Finance Forum (OSFF) event in London. Much of the time was spent introducing new members to the overall goals of the group. Following an introduction there was an open conversation about other potential topics, activities or actions that this group could undertake, in parallel with the governance framework development.

The items discussed were:

  • Create an operating model for AI development that is compatible with the governance framework. This could provide an easy pathway to compliance.
  • Given that firms already have mature governance framework for cloud, data, SaaS on-boarding, we should avoid duplication. Our efforts should be focussed on the 'new' parts.
  • However, we have to support the need to evaluate the system as a whole (even if our framework doesn’t encompass the entirety of this ask). We cannot just evaluate AI in isolation, it is the system that needs to demonstrate compliance.
  • We can help people understand and assess the emerging (AI) models
  • We talked about more broad readiness topics that could be tackled, e.g. skills, awareness
  • We could provide guidance regarding understanding and addressing bias in GenAI
  • There were discussions around whether we consider selecting a baseline framework (e.g. BASEL)
  • We should consider explainability of AI system
  • We could provide guidance around model selection and evaluation
