[PLUS] Content of main chat window hidden behind input window. #854
Comments
Ok. Just discovered this is an issue with the theme I'm using (AnuPpuccin). Doesn't happen with the default theme. |
Ok. It's still happening with the default theme. I've disabled all plugins and using the default theme only, and it's still happening. See below: 2024-11-26.-.screencast.11.36.23.mp4 |
What's the alternative do you have in mind? I used to have it scroll down as it generates but find it super annoying because I want to copy a part of the response but it's constantly moving. So the auto scroll only happens at finish, you can scroll up and down when it generates. |
Ah I see what you mean. That is super annoying. Something I experience in other apps! The main issue is not the lack of scrolling per se, but once you've entered the text it's hidden behind the input box, not above it, while it's awaiting the AI response. If you play the video again, you'll see that once I've hit enter to send the prompt, you can only see the top of the lettering in the chat window. Sometimes, it's completely hidden and leaves you wondering what's going on as there's no indication until the output finally appears. As an aside, the scrolling down as it generates, maybe have this as an option for the user that they can turn on or off, depending on how they want to see it being generated? Minor point though. The hidden text is the main issue! I hope this makes sense! |
Copilot version: v.2.7.4
Describe how to reproduce
When the chat window is full of content (i.e. when any new content will make it scroll), and you ask the AI something new, the text that appears in the main window is hidden behind the input field. It only scrolls upwards once the AI has finished its output.
In fact, once you hit enter after your 'Ask', even that is hidden behind the input field until the AI outputs the result.
Expected behavior
Text should appear above the input field so it's easy to see what's going on. At the moment, it looks like the input field is some sort of floating element on top of the chat window, thus hiding anything behind it.
