Microsoft PowerToys version

0.86.0

Installation method

PowerToys auto-update

Running as admin

No

Area(s) with issue?

Advanced Paste

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open New Outlook
  2. Set View > Layout > Reading Pane > Show on the right
  3. Ctrl+N to start a new email in the reading pane on the right
  4. Copy some text from another application e.g. from the browser.
  5. Press Ctrl+Win+Alt+V to "Paste as plain text directly"

✔️ Expected Behavior

Plain text to be pasted directly.

❌ Actual Behavior

Instead of the text pasting, all that happens is menubar shortcuts are highlighted (same as if you press Alt on its own). No text at all is pasted. Using the right-click menu and selecting "Paste as plain text" does work normally, but takes much longer than the keyboard shortcut.

Other Software

I've had the same issue both a work computer with Win10 22H2 and a home computer with Win11 24H2. My work computer version information is:

Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2024.1115.300 (Production).
Client Version is 20241115003.27.
WebView2 Version is 131.0.2903.70.

Duplicate with #35197. Didn't think to search for existing "closed" issues since this obviously isn't fixed yet.
